This is a vintage 1940s women's tailored blazer from Strouss-Hirshberg's department store. It is beautifully cut with an hourglass, fitted shape (nipped-in waist) in a navy wool-gabardine mid-weight fabric, very soft to the touch. It is a very flattering style with a five-button front closure, peter pan collar & revers, two slanted pockets and two pocket flap details above the bust.

Strouss-Hirschberg was a leading department store in Ohio and Pennsylvania, which first opened in Youngstown in 1875. Its name was shortened to Strouss in 1947.

CONDITION: 

The sleeve lining of this jacket is torn in multiple places. Please see the last photo for details of this. Not visible from exterior!
The third button from the top is missing. The remaining buttons have wear and tear. 
Some faint marks on the cuffs.
The stiff stabilizing fabric used on the front pocket area (like a heavy buckram) is a little out of place and needs to be stitched back inside the lining.
